Released in 2022, Elvis, the biography drama film directed by Baz Luhrmann staring Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge and Helen Thomson. Commenced production in October 2019 – March 2021. All 10 production offices, 9 Sound stages including 19 lockups, 9 construction and 2 wardrobe areas were utilised.
AQUAMAN
Released in November 2018, Aquaman starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul- Mateen II and Australia’s own Nicole Kidman, was an international success making over $1 billion at the box office.
THOR: RAGNAROK
Released in November 2017, Thor: Ragnarok starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba and the legendary Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins, Thor: Ragnarok was Marvels first experience of filming in Australia.
SAN ANDREAS
Launched in May 2015 San Andreas has received global media attention, putting the Gold Coast’s film industry and the big business it generates in the spotlight.
FOOL'S GOLD
Commenced production on 4 September 2006 – 30 March 2007. The new water tank was built specifically for Fools Gold.
UNBROKEN
Commenced 13 September 2013 – January 2014 – utilised Stage 5, Stage 8 and main water tank. Stage 8 was utilised to build the bomber plane, Stage 5 and main tank were utilised for the raft sequences.
NARNIA VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER
Commenced production on 23 March- 22 December 2009 – utilised Stages 5,6,7,8 and main tank – The Narnia boat was built in Stage 8 in sections and then transported to Cleveland Point and rebuilt on a large rotational concrete plate and gimble system.
